NEW DELHI: On the basis of the Joint Entrance Examination - Main (JEE Main) 2025 scores, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will conduct the engineering and architecture admission process for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) for the academic session 2025-26.

JoSAA counselling 2025 will be held for a total of 121 participating institutes including 23 IITs, 32 NITs, 26 IIITs, and 40 GFTIs. As per last year’s seat matrix, a total of 17,740 seats in IITs, 24,229 seats in NITs, 8,546 seats in IIITs, and 9,402 seats in GFTIs will be on offer.
JoSAA 2025 counselling process will include registration by qualified candidates, choice-filling, seat allocation, and online reporting. There will be five or six rounds of JoSAA counselling 2025. Students will be allotted seats on the basis of their ranks. The authorities will release the JoSAA opening and closing rank 2025 for all institutes, categories, and rounds.
The admissions will begin only after JEE Advanced 2025 result declaration. Only top 2.5 lakh candidates in JEE Main 2025 will be eligible for the exam. JEE Mains 2025 session 2 concluded on April 9 and JEE Main session 2 results 2025 are expected by April 17.
JoSAA opening and closing rank
JoSAA opening and closing ranks are the first and last ranks on which qualified students are admitted to BTech, BArch, and BPlan programmes in participating institutions. Last year’s opening and closing ranks for top five courses are given below.
