The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) has announced the schedule for the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced) 2026 registrations for admission to undergraduate (UG) engineering programmes.

The JEE Mains 2026-qualified candidates will be able to register for the JEE Advanced 2026 from April 23 to May 2. The registration link will be hosted on the official website at jeeadv.ac.in.
The JEE Advanced is a computer-based test, conducted for admission to IITs across the country. Only JEE Mains-qualified candidates will be able to appear for the JEE Advanced for admission to engineering programmes.
General category candidates, aiming for admission to IITs for BTech will have to register for JEE Advanced 2026 by paying a requisite application fee of Rs 3,200.
Female candidates and those belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) category are required to pay Rs 1,600 for JEE Advanced 2026 registrations.

As per the eligibility criteria, only those BTech aspirants will be allowed to register for JEE Advanced 2026 who will be among the top 2,50,000 qualifying candidates (all categories) in the JEE Mains 2026 exam.
The category-wise percentage of candidates to be shortlisted for JEE Advanced registration 2026 includes 10 per cent for the general-Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 27% for Other Backward Classes-Non-Creamy Layer (NCL), 15% for Scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST), and the remaining 40.5% for open category candidates.
“Within each of these five categories, 5% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates,” as per the official notification. Moreover, to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026, candidates should have appeared for Class 12 exam for the first time in 2025 or 2026 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
While, those who have appeared in Class 12 exam for the first time in 2024 or earlier, are not eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2026. Notably, a candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) maximum of two times in two consecutive years, the notification reads.
In addition, a candidate should also not have been admitted to an IIT under any academic programme that is listed in JoSAA Business Rules of 2025. “Candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs for the first time in 2025 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2026,” it added.
