JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 forenoon shift ends; exam moderately difficult

NEW DELHI, JANUARY 9: The forenoon shift of JEE Main 2019 paper 1 for January 9 has been concluded at 12:30 pm. The shift started at 9:30 am and for which the reporting time was 7:30 am. A number of students reported around 7 whereas maximum students entered the exam centre by 9. Late comers reaching the exam centre after 9:20 were denied entry in spite of their multiple requests.

According to Sumit the paper was easy. He found Mathematics section to be of moderate difficulty level and faced no technical glitches.

Ankush said, "I found the paper to be bit difficult. However, there were no technical glitches and I was able to complete the exam on time"

Chirag said," I left 3 questions because of the shortage of time. Chemistry was as expected, Physics was time consuming but not difficult and Mathematics was also easy this time which is usually the toughest one."

Aman said," The difficulty level was moderate. Chemistry and Physics section was a bit tricky. There were no technical problems. I was able to complete my paper on time"


The paper consisted of 90 questions with each section having 30 questions of 4 marks each. 4 marks will be awarded for every correct response whereas for the incorrect response, 1 mark will be deducted. No marks will be given for unattempted questions.

The afternoon shift will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm for which the entry will start from 12:30 pm. It is the first time that the exam is being conducted in CBT( Computer Based Test) mode. Around 9,29,198 candidates are appearing for JEE Main 2019 paper 1. The entrance exam is being conducted in 467 Centres in 258 Cities (09 outside India).
