NEW DELHI: HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' has announced the exam dates for JEE Main 2020 April exam in his live interaction with students on Twitter and Facebook. Pokhriyal announced that JEE Main 2020 will be held on July 18, 20, 21, 22 and 23. He did not mention July 19 as an exam date. So it can be assumed that the exam will not held on July 19.

Lakhs of students were worried about JEE Main 2020 exam dates after repeated postponements on account of the lockdown and have been posting queries on various platforms. So the declaration of exam dates by the minister has brought a huge sigh of relief for students who can now gear up their preparations for the exam.

Speaking of preparations, Pokhriyal suggested that students use Swayam Prabha as well as the digital platform for their JEE preparation. This was in answer to a question posed by an engineering aspirant. Since the coaching centres have been closed on account of the lockdown, he advised students to make use of the digital and online facilities provided by the ministry.

Along with the JEE Main 2020 exam dates, the minister also announced that JEE Advanced 2020 will be conducted in August and the exact exam dates will be released later.

JEE Main 2020 will be conducted as a computer based examination for admission to 31 NITs, 25 IIIT and 28 GFTIs. It will also be the screening test for the JEE Advanced 2020 that is scheduled in August. The January session of the exam was conducted from January 6 to 9.
