JEE Main 2020 Paper- 1 commences; no electronic gadgets allowed

New Delhi, December 7 : Joint Entrance Exam or JEE Main 2020 paper 1 commenced at 9:30 in the morning and will be over at 12:30 PM. The duration of the exam is 3 Hours. JEE Main 2020 Paper 1 consists of three sections - Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates were not allowed to enter the examination centre after 9:20 AM. Candidates were required to show their JEE Main 2020 admit card and other documents such as a valid photo Id proof, a passport size photograph, and PwD certificate if claiming reservation under PwD category. JEE Main 2020 is being conducted in two shifts and the next shift will commence at 2:30 PM.
A total of 11,18,673 candidates have registered for JEE Main this year, out of which 9,21,261 candidates have registered for BE/B.Tech exam. In order to curb malpractices in the examinations, live CCTV surveillance has been started in all the examination centres. A total of 9500 cameras have been installed. Also, in remote areas, NTA is making arrangements of live viewing. Not only this, to avoid any cheating, the authorities have also installed jammers in all the examination centres.
Guidelines followed by the candidates inside the examination hall

Students were not allowed to carry any personal belongings including electronic devices, mobile phones and other materials to the exam hall.

Candidates were asked to take the seat immediately after opening of the examination hall.

Candidates were asked to write their name and Roll Number at the top of the sheet and should return the sheet to the invigilator, before leaving the examination hall.

Candidates are asked to hand over their Admit Card, rough sheet and Pen/Pencil to the Invigilator on duty after the completion of the exam.
