NEW DELHI : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 students seem to worry as the biology and economics board exam dates, scheduled to be conducted on May 24 and 25 respectively, will clash with the May session of the Joint Entrance Exam (Main).

The CBSE has also scheduled the computer science board exam on May 29, a day after the JEE exam. Thousands of students appearing for the board exams are requesting to change the dates. CBSE is looking into the matter and it is most likely to postpone JEE Main exam instead of CBSE Class 12 board exam.

CBSE board exams have already been delayed by two months due to COVID-19, so it is highly possible that the JEE Main exam will be revised. This entrance exam will be conducted four times a year - February, March, April, May 2021. The exam dates are also clashing with Maharashtra board exam 2021 scheduled in April and May.

According to Times of India , a student of class 12 and IIT aspirant from Tamil Nadu, Ebi Manuel, said Biology is a vast subject and students need to concentrate more on it. “It will affect only Bio-Math group students, I request the NTA to change the schedule for last session to enable the students to prepare for the Biology exam.”

JEE Main 2021 exam is slated to be held on April 27 to 30, 2021, for April session, while the JEE Mains May session is scheduled on May 24 to 28, 2021. Along with that, the CBSE practical exam will start from March 1 in schools.

The NTA officials said students who have exams on May 24 will not be given slots on that day, as per the Times of India report. “The roll number of CBSE students will be collected by May. Biology students will get an exam session other than May 24 so there won’t be a clash,” an official said.
