The CBI conducted raids at 20 locations in Delhi, NCR, Pune, Indore and Jamshedpur and registered an FIR against Affinity Education Pvt Ltd and its directors, Siddharth Krishna, Vishambhar Mani Tripathi and Govind Varshney on charges that they were manipulating JEE Main 2021 examination, according to media reports.
Meanwhile, students are worried about the delay in JEE Main result 2021 or the cancellation of JEE examination.
According to reports, students paid Rs 15 lakhs in exchange for someone else to take their exam. The private educational institution was facilitating a scam by solving the candidates’ JEE Main 2021 question paper through remote access from a test centre in Haryana.
The institution hacked the devices and manipulated the JEE Main 2021 exam facilitating aspiring students to get admission into the National Institutes of Technology (NITs).
Cancel the JEE Main 2021 attempt at compromised exam centre: The National Testing Agency has the right to cancel the entire attempt at centres that have been allegedly compromised, according to the Mint report.
In such a case, it would be an injustice to students who scored the highest mark in the JEE Main session 4 exam. Students have been appearing in more than one session of JEE Mains 2021 to improve their score as this year, NTA conducted JEE Main in four phases.
Cancel JEE Main 2021 exam: The NTA can cancel the entire JEE Main 2021 attempt and hold the exam one more time. However, this would further delay the admission process and also impact the JEE Advanced 2021 schedule.
This would also mean a delay in admission and rescheduling other entrance examinations. However, it is unlikely that the NTA would cancel the entire JEE Main 2021 exam.
The Congress sought a Supreme Court-monitored probe into the alleged manipulation of JEE Mains examination. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the nation owes the hard-working students a fair JEE exam, but the government "is better at providing cover-ups".
National Students' Union of India (NSUI) also announced protests across the country on Monday on the issue.
Despite the controversy, the NTA is likely to release the JEE Main session 4 result date soon at jeemain.nta.nic.in. The JEE Main session 4 results are expected by September 10 as JEE Advanced 2021 registration starts on September 11.
Looking at the previous sessions’ trends, NTA released the JEE Main 2021 result within 10 to 15 days after the conduct of the exam. The JEE Main 2021 session 1 was held from February 23 to 26 and the results were declared on March 8.
