Engineering aspirants have started requesting the National Testing Agency (NTA) for updates on Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main 2022) exam dates and registration process. The NTA introduced major changes in JEE Main 2021 including multiple attempts and optional questions in line with the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021.

Last year in December, former union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ announced the JEE Main exam dates live on Twitter. The four sessions of JEE Main 2021 exam was scheduled starting from February 23 and the other three attempts were in March, April and May. However, the last two phases were postponed due to the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic and held in July and continued till August.

The previous year, the JEE Main exam dates were announced in December and JEE Main registration also began soon on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. Students have started asking for JEE Main 2022 updates on social media and have put forward a list of demands including multiple attempts and cancellation of 75% eligibility criteria and to conduct JEE Main exam 2022 in May or June. Several students, who couldn’t clear the JEE Main and JEE Advanced last year also asked for a second chance.

“75% criteria of 12th board should also be removed in the 2022 JEE Main exam as students faced the same problems in 2021 as in 2020,” another student said.

Tagging union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan and NTA, a student asked for extra attempt in JEE Main 2022. The aspirant wrote, “Sir please give students 4 chances in 2022 jee main just like 2021.. otherwise it will be unfair..it has helped a lot of students in 2021.. don't make it unfair for the 2022 batch.”

A Twitter user said, “Education minister sir we all second droppers are passout board in 2020 because some covid reason not apparing in JEE main and advanced 2020 or 2021 so I humble request to you sir we all second droppers want JEE advanced 2022 extra chance for dream IIT #JEEAdvancedOnceMore.”
