NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will likely announce the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) January 2023 exam city intimation slips soon. The JEE Mains 2023 official website -- jeemain.nta.nic.in will make the January session of JEE Main exam centre city intimation slips available. The JEE Main 2023 January exam admit cards will be issued after the release of the exam centre slips.

The JEE Main 2023 is held in two rounds. While the first session will begin on January 24 and will continue till January 31, the next session will be held in April.

- Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
- Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
- Any Public School/ Board/ University examination in India or any foreign country is recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
- Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
- A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State board of technical education of at least 3 years duration.
- General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
- High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
- Candidates who have completed the Class 12 or equivalent exam outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 exam.
- In case the Class 12 exam is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier.

JEE Main 2023: Year of appearance in qualifying exam
- Only those candidates who have passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2021 and 2022 or those who are appearing in the Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2023, are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2023.
- Candidates who passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2020 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2024 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE Main 2023.

JEE Main 2023 admit card: Important points to note
- The admit cards will not be sent by post.
- In no case, the duplicate admit card for JEE Main 2023 would be issued at the examination centres.
- The candidates must not mutilate the admit card or change any entry made therein.
- Candidates are advised to preserve their admit card in good condition for future reference.
- No admit card shall be issued to the candidates whose applications are found to be incomplete for any reason (including indistinct/ doubtful photographs/unsigned applications) or who do not fulfil the eligibility criteria for the examination.
- Issue of admit card, however, shall not necessarily mean acceptance of eligibility which shall be further scrutinized at subsequent stages of the admission process.

The NTA will use the following manner in descending order to resolve the tie between candidates obtaining equal total NTA scores in Paper 1 (BE, BTech):
- NTA score in Mathematics, followed by

The JEE Main 2023 marking scheme for MCQs will be the following:
- For the correct answer or the most appropriate answer, candidates will be awarded four marks (+4).
- For an incorrect answer, there is a penalty of minus one mark (-1).
- In case a question is left unanswered or marked for review, no mark (0) will be given.

- Candidates will be awarded four marks (+4) for each correct answer.
- One mark (-1) will be deducted for each wrong answer.
