JEE Main 2024 syllabus reduced; know chapter-wise weightage

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a reduction in the JEE Mains 2024 syllabus on November 2. NTA has deleted a few topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to conform with the NCERT curriculum for Class 11 and Class 12 students. Most of the chapters have been removed from the Chemistry subject.

The following chapters have been dropped from the JEE Mains 2024 syllabus:

Topics eliminated from Physics

• Communication Systems

• Few topics were removed from the Experimental Skills

Topics eliminated from Chemistry

• States of Matter

• Surface Chemistry

• s-Block Elements

• Hydrogen

• Environmental Chemistry

• Polymers

• Chemistry in Everyday Life

• General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Metals

• Thomson and Rutherford's atomic models and their limitations

• Physical quantities and their measurements in Chemistry, precision, and accuracy, significant figures

JEE Main 2024 : Chapter wise weightage

Candidates can check the JEE Main chapter wise weightage for each subject to know which topics are most important and require more attention.

The JEE Main session 1 exams are scheduled to be conducted in January 2024. The exams will be held from January 24 to February 1, 2024. Students preparing for the entrance exam can register for the first session till November 30, 2023.
