NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has responded to a wave of criticism over alleged discrepancies in JEE Main response sheets 2025 and the provisional answer key. Multiple aspirants and coaching experts have raised concerns about errors in the JEE Main answer key 2025, while some students have also reported blank spaces and wrongly marked answers in their recorded responses. Reacting to the controversy, the NTA said it follows a transparent examination process and provides candidates access to their recorded responses as soon as the provisional answer keys are released. “The NTA considers every challenge to the provisional Answer Key with utmost seriousness,” NTA posted on its official X account.
It further added that all challenges to the answer key are examined seriously and that the purpose of the answer key challenge process is to eliminate anomalies and uphold fairness in the evaluation process.
The testing agency clarified that the JEE Main 2025 session 2 answer keys currently available are only provisional and that the final answer keys have not yet been published. The final scores will be calculated only on the basis of the JEE Main final answer key 2025.
NTA has also advised candidates not to draw conclusions based on the provisional answer key and to refrain from being misled by reports that create unnecessary confusion or anxiety.
“Drawing conclusions based on the provisional answer keys is not desirable. NTA would like to advise and inform candidates that they should not to be misled by reports that create unnecessary doubt and anxiety,” the official post said.
Several students from Kota have claimed that the April 9 question paper had nine incorrect answers — four in physics, three in chemistry and two in mathematics. Students have reportedly urged the NTA to either drop these questions or award bonus marks to ensure a fair evaluation process.
While raising concerns over errors in the JEE Main 2025 session 2 response sheet, students pointed out that a candidate who appeared for the April 3 shift 2 exam found his selected answer wrongly recorded.
The testing agency issued the JEE Main 2025 session 2 provisional answer key on April 11, and candidates were allowed to raise objections till April 13. The JEE Main 2025 session 2 result is scheduled to be out on April 17 at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
