NEW DELHI: National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli (NIT Trichy) has increased the JEE Main cut-offs for most of its BTech courses in the last 4 years. The institute offers admission to students based on their BE, BTech paper 1 score, and JEE Main 2025 rank.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the Joint Entrance Examination Main ( JEE Main 2025 ) for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes such as BE and BTech at NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).

Candidates desirous of taking admission at NIT Trichy will have to qualify the JEE Main 2025 paper 1 exam, which will be held in two sessions - January and April. JEE Main paper 1 is held for BE, BTech and paper 2 for BArch and BPlanning.

NIT Tiruchirappalli also offers a 5-year BArch programme and popular courses such as 4-year BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical and electronics engineering.

NIT Trichy is the only NIT to retain a position in the top 10 engineering colleges in India for the past 6 years, as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework ( NIRF ) rankings published by the ministry of education. It maintained 9th rank in NIRF for 2 years after jumping one spot higher in 2022. In 2019, it bagged the 10th rank, and in the following two years, it was placed in 9th spot. Overall, it has improved its NIRF India ranking since 2016 when it was ranked 12th best engineering college.
