JEE Main 2026: IIT Guwahati CSE cut-off drops; BTech biosciences still least competitive

JEE Main 2026: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati cut-offs for BTech Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) have declined from 623 to 792 under the gender-neutral open category, compared to last year. However, BTech Biosciences and Bioengineering cut-offs remain the least competitive branch closing at 10727 in 2025 and 9178 in 2024.

According to the JIC report 2025 by IIT Kanpur, at IIT Guwahati, BTech CSE was opted by 24,413 aspirants, remaining the top choice, followed by Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at 22,247.

Meanwhile, the closing ranks for IIT Hyderabad CSE have also shown a significant decline. The closing ranks for the open category slipped from 656 to 673, and for SC students fell from 182 to 198. Whereas, the CSE cut-off for the SC category saw an increase by 2 points from 82 to 80 for SC category students.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon issue the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2026 admit cards for BTech, BArch, and BPlanning papers. Aspirants will be able to access the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam admit card using their application number and password on the official website,jeemain.nta.nic.in.
