All schools in Jharkhand nursery to class 5 will remain closed till January 14 due to cold wave. Regular classes to begin from January 16, 2023.

NEW DELHI: Jharkhand government has announced the extension of school holidays for all primary schools in the state till January 14, 2023 due to extreme cold wave. Classes nursery to 5 will begin regular classes from January 16, 2023.
Previously the state government announced school holidays till January 8, 2023. However, the massive temperature drop has prompted the Jharkhand government to close private and government primary schools till the weather conditions improve.

The teachers will however still attend schools to update student records and midday meals would also be provided to all government school students. The state board also said that the remaining students from classes 6 to 12 are required to go to school as per timetables issued.
The temperature in 23 districts of Jharkhand were reported to be under 10 degrees celsius while the state capital, Ranchi recorded its lowest temperature at 6.8 degree celsius. The temperature across Jharkhand remains to be from 3-5 degree celsius.
All private and government schools in Punjab remained closed till today and will begin classes from tomorrow. Meanwhile, Haryana schools will be re-opening on January 15. Class 10 and 12 students in Jharkhand attended classes from 10 AM to 2 PM. Similarly, Delhi government closed all schools till January 15 while remedial sessions for classes 9 and 12 were functioning.
