Jharkhand School Reopening News Today: Schools, coaching centres to reopen to conduct offline classes for Class 1 and above

NEW DELHI: Jharkhand government has permitted schools and coaching centres in all districts to reopen from March 7, 2022, to conduct offline classes for Class 1 and above as the Covid situation has improved in the state. Anganwadi centres in the state are also allowed to open, said Hemant Soren, chief minister of Jharkhand in a tweet.
The decision to allow schools across Jharkhand to reopen was taken in a meeting organized by the Jharkhand State Disaster Management Authority which was presided over by Soren. Earlier schools were permitted to reopen for all classes in 17 out of 24 districts barring Ranchi, East Singhbhum, Chatra, Deoghar, Saraikela, Simdega and Bokaro. The districts had reported a higher number of COVID cases in comparison with others. But schools were allowed to reopen in these districts for Classes 9 to 12 from February 1. Offline examinations in these districts are prohibited till March 31 for Classes 1-8.

The Jharkhand government also gave permission to open all shops and commercial establishments for normal hours. But the ban on activities like fairs, processions and exhibitions will continue. Covid-appropriate behaviour such as wearing of masks in public places will be enforced as before.

The government has also prohibited the gathering of more than 500 individuals or 50 percent capacity of the space, whichever is less. Government and private offices, parks and tourist places, restaurants, bars, cinema halls, shops and shopping malls are allowed to function with full capacity.
