NEW DELHI, June 1: Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry is all set to conduct the entrance exam for admission to MBBS course on June 2, 2019. The authority will be conducting the entrance exam in 120 major cities in the country. The authority had released the admit card for the same on May 20 for all the registered candidates in online mode. In order to appear for the computer-based test, it is essential to carry the admit card without which entry to the exam hall will be restricted.

The medical entrance exam is being conducted for admission to 150 seats at the JIPMER, Puducherry campus and 50 seats at the JIPMER, Karaikal campus. It is estimated that more than 1.5 lakh candidates will take JIPMER 2019 as last year a total of 1,97,751 candidates registered for JIPMER MBBS entrance exam out of which 1,54,491 candidates appeared.

Documents to be carried

On the day of the exam, apart from admit card, the candidates are required to bring a valid identity proof and relevant photocopies. Please note that no other ID proof apart from the ones specified by the authority will be accepted to enter the exam hall. Biometric verification and recording of the candidate’s data, including the taking of digital photograph and fingerprint is done at the exam center thus it is necessary to report on time. The candidate will also have to put down their signature on the registration form.

Barred Items in the exam hall

Candidates must ensure that they do not carry any of barred items to the exam hall. If a candidate is caught carrying illegal items inside the exam hall could be disqualified from the admission process altogether.

  • Electronic devices like mobile phones, smart/programmable watches, smartphones, calculators, iPAD, tabs, electronic watches, etc. are prohibited.

  • Other barred items include slide rule, log books, geometry box, books and notes, wallets, etc.

  • Avoid wearing ornaments, head gear, hair band, belt, or carry bags, credit and debit cards.

  • Baggage counter facility will not be made available therefore it is best not to carry unnecessary things.
