The Joint Seat Allocation Authority has released the first seat allotment of JoSAA 2019 in online mode today. Students can login to their candidate portal and check their allotment status. Those students who have been allotted a seat have to deposit the seat acceptance fees in online mode and report to the reporting centres for verification of documents and acceptance of seat from June 28 till July 2. The second round of seat allotment will be published on July 3.
JoSAA is the organising body for allotment of seats in all IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs on the basis of their qualification and rank in JEE Main and Advanced 2019. Students who want to take admission in any of the participating institutes of JoSAA 2019 have to register and fill choices for counselling and seat allotment. The registration and choice filling was available from June 16 to 25. The JoSAA 2019 authority also facilitated students with two rounds of mock seat allotment on June 22 and 24 to get them an idea about their allotments as per their filled choices.

Documents to be submitted at Reporting Centres
1. Provisional seat allotment letter
2. Class 12 performance check as per format
3. Undertaking by the candidate as per format
4. Proof of seat acceptance fee payment
5. Photo identity card
6. Admit card of JEE Main/ Advanced 2019 (Whichever applicable)
7. Date of birth proof [Class 10 marksheet]
8. Class 12 board marksheet. If available, pass certificate
9. Medical certificate
10. Category certificate (GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST), if applicable
11. Two passport size colour photograph
As per the official notification by JoSAA 2019, there is also an increase in 2 IIITs and 5 GFTIs from this academic session making the total number of seats to 38664. The total number of EWS seats across all institutes are 2529 with 609 seats in IITs, 1309 in NITs, 290 in IIITs and 321 in GFTIs. Apart from this, there are 129 seats for EWS PwD category.
