JoSAA issues final reminder: Complete online reporting by June 18 or lose allocated seat

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has issued a final reminder to complete the online reporting process before the deadline. It is mandatory for candidates, who have been allotted seats in round 1 JoSAA counselling 2025 for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, to submit their willingness, upload all documents, and pay the seat acceptance fee by tomorrow, June 18, through the official website, josaa.nic.in.

The JoSAA counselling seat allotment results for round 1 was declared on June 14. Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) remains the top choice of JEE Advanced toppers 2025.

As per the JoSAA schedule, the last date to upload all relevant documents, make payment is June 18 up to 5 pm.

JoSAA online reporting explained

The JoSAA has issued a final reminder and guidelines to complete the online reporting process. Take a look.

What is float, freeze, and slide in JoSAA? It is mandatory for candidates to submit their willingness by exercising the freeze, float, and slide options by tomorrow. Failure to do so will lead to cancellation of the provisionally allotted seat and such candidates will not be considered in the subsequent rounds.

• Freeze - Choosing the option ‘freeze’ would mean that the candidate accepts the seat allocated and can proceed to make fee payment and upload documents for verification.
• Float - Choosing this option would mean that the candidate accepts the offered seat and indicates that, if admission to an academic program of higher preference in any Institute is offered in subsequent rounds of seat allocation, the candidate will accept it.
• Slide - Choosing the option ‘Slide’ would mean that the candidate accepts the offered seat and is willing to accept admission to an academic programme of higher preference offered in the same institute.

JoSAA seat acceptance fee - Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories will have to pay Rs 15,000 and all other students will have to pay Rs 30,000. The charges will include Rs 5,000 JoSAA processing fee.

“The seat acceptance fee, excluding JoSAA processing charges of Rs. 5000, will be adjusted against the admission fee,” it said.

Documents required - Candidates who have already uploaded the relevant documents during the registration process are required to review and complete the other two steps. List of documents to be submitted during online reporting.

• Class 10 mark sheet or Aadhaar card or birth certificate for date of birth verification.
• Class 12 mark sheet and certificate.
• JEE Main 2025 admit card
• Caste certificate
• Original certificate for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD)
• Crossed bank cheque copy or image of passbook with bank account details
• Medical certificate in specified format available on JoSAA 2025 information brochure.
• OCI certificate or PIO card, if applicable
• Passport or citizenship certificate, if applicable.
