NEW DELHI: Karnataka Education Minister S. Suresh Kumar, on Monday, announced that the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) board exam for class 10 students will be conducted from June 25 to July 4. The minister instructed schools to follow the norms of social distancing and other precautionary measures while conducting the exams.

Approximately 8.5 lakh students have registered for the board exams which were scheduled to be held from March 27 to April 9. However, due to the nation-wide lockdown till May 31, 2020, the exams were postponed.
S. Suresh Kumar said, "The SSLC board exam for Class 10 students will be conducted at 2,879 examination centres across the state under new guidelines, which make wearing a mask and maintaining social distance mandatory."
He also said "As at least 2 meters of distance has to be kept between 2 students, additional classrooms will be arranged for complying with the guidelines. Scouts and guides will distribute 2 face masks to every student at the school entrance to wear one before getting into the exam room or hall and keep the other as spare”
He further added, "Each exam centre will be equipped with sanitizer dispensers to wash hands before and after completing the exam daily."
