The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has reopened the option entry window for the third round of NEET PG counselling, following a direction from the Karnataka High Court not to publish the seat allotment till February 17.

According to the KEA NEET PG schedule, the last date for option entry for round 3 was February 11. However, in the writ petition, the high court directed authorities not to make any announcement till February 17.

The decision comes after two in-service candidates approached the court seeking directions to the KEA to accept their Form-H submissions dated January 8 and January 20, and to offer five de-categorised in-service seats that remained vacant after the second round.

The petitioners have requested that these seats be offered to eligible in-service candidates on a priority basis before the commencement of the third mop-up round.

On February 12, the Bengaluru division bench reserved its judgement while continuing the interim order granted earlier. The bench comprising Justice Jayant Banerji and Justice T.M. Nadaf, in its oral order observed: “Interim order granted earlier shall be in effect till delivery of judgment subject to the condition that the respondents are permitted to conduct the option entries and registration of in-service candidates.”

Karnataka NEET PG round 3 revised dates

The Karnataka NEET PG round 3 allotment date will be announced only based on the subsequent court orders.

Eligible in-service candidates listed by the government can submit applications online from February 12 to 14 by paying the prescribed fee. The KEA has notified four seats under the in-service quota.

Such candidates should appear for document verification at the KEA office in Bengaluru on February 16 between 10 am and 1 pm. After verification of certificates, candidates will be allowed to record their preferences till 11 am on February 17.

In view of this, the KEA NEET PG round 3 option entry will be reopened from 11 am on February 16 to 11 am on February 17. Candidates who have already been declared eligible for participation in the Karnataka NEET PG round 3 counselling, but who have not yet entered their options can submit their preferences before the deadline.

The Karnataka High Court will next hear the matter on February 17.
