NEW DELHI: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has extended the option entry for postgraduate common entrance test (PGCET 2024) counselling for admission into MBA, MCA, MTech and MArch courses. Candidates will be able to submit their choices of courses and colleges through the official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in, till November 11.

Options for all disciplines have to be entered at once. “In view of the requests of candidate option entry portal will be kept open till 10.00 am on 11-11-2024 to enter the options for MBA/ MCA/ ME/ MTech/ MArch courses. Mock seat allotment results will be published on 11-11-2024 after 6.00 pm,” the KEA said.

The Karnataka PGCET mock seat allotment result, which was scheduled to be declared on November 9, will now be out on November 11. As per the seat matrix issued by the government, seat allotment will be made by following the roster system based on the merit and based on priority of options entered by the candidates.

“The KEA advised candidates not to start entering the options directly on the choice filling form on the internet without preparatory work at home on choice of options, as it leads to commission of mistakes / wrong entries / wrong order of preferences. The candidate should note the name of the college, the course offered in a separate sheet of paper.

If the candidate is eligible for multiple disciplines such as for both MBA and MCA or MBA and ME or MTech, options can be exercised for all the disciplines in the same entry form. However, only candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria will be considered for admission.

As per the Karnataka PGCET eligibility criteria, candidates should have obtained 50% aggregate marks taken together in all subjects for all the years of the degree exam and 45% of marks for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and category 1. The examination authority said only candidates of Karnataka origin will be eligible to claim reservation.
