New Delhi, May 6: 365 Karnataka and 155 Siliguri (West Bengal) NEET test takers who had missed appearing for NEET 2019 on account of disservice due to some circumstances beyond their control, will now get another chance to appear for the exam on May 20, along with students of Odisha, where the exam was postponed on account of the cyclone Fani. This was confirmed by the MHRD minister Prakash Javedkar in his tweet. Check details below.

Later, the exam conducting authority of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) has also released an official notification mentioning that such aspirants who experienced some grievances on the day of exam must report to the city coordinators to submit their issues along with the relevant documents for proof on or before 05:00 PM of May 10, 2019. NEET admit cards for these candidates will be released separately on the official NTA NEET website. Examining the grievances, the following students can re-appear for NEET exam.

Hundreds of students in Karnataka had failed to reach their NEET exam centres on time on account of the train delay on May 6. There was a wide spread appeal to the authorities to take their plight into account and hold the exam as their inability to appear for the exam was due to no fault of theirs. The appeal included one from the Chief Minister of the state who also appealed to the Prime Minister for his intervention.

Considering the grievances, Prakash Javdekar, MHRD minister also tweeted on the issue stating that the Karnataka students who missed the NEET exam due to delay of 16591-Hampi Express to Bengaluru will get another chance.

Also, the test takers from Siliguri having their roll number from 460903805 to 460903960 failed to take the national level MBBS and BDS entrance exam on May 5, 2019, Sunday, due to shortage in the supply of Hindi question paper of NEET 2019. The city coordinators of Siliguri had a discussion with the Senior Director of NTA, who later assured that the exam will be re-conducted. These students can now write the exam at the same centres on May 20, 2019, along with the students from Odisha where the exam was postponed due to the cyclonic conditions prevailing on May 6, when the rest of the country had appeared for the exam.

NEET is the undergraduate entrance exam which was conducted in 147 exam centres across the country for admission to around 93,919 MBBS and BDS seats. Along with that, the scores of NEET will also be used for admission to AYUSH and Veterinary courses. The result of the exam will be declared by June 5, 2019.
