Karunya University students win Rs 1 lakh cash prize at 'Intel Unnati Grand Challenge'

A students from Karunya University won Rs 1 lakh in cash reward for their prototype in decision support system for traffic control using technology.

NEW DELHI: A team of students from Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences' department of computer science and engineering won Rs 1 lakh in cash reward at the 'Intel Unnati Grand Challenge Winter 2022'. The students were asked to develop a decision support system for traffic control using state-of-the-art technology.

The annual challenge was held at the Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc) Bengaluru this time. The challenge invites students from educational institutions across India to participate in the competition and solve problems using technology.

This year, the Karunya University team used the Upsquare extreme edge computing device available in the Intel Unnati Lab at the institutions to build a prototype of their decision support system. The challenge provides students with an opportunity to showcase their skills and use their knowledge for real-life application.

The university congratulated the winners for their achievement and representing the institute. "We are extremely proud of our students for winning this prestigious competition. Their success is a testament to the high-quality education and state-of-the-art facilities available at our university. We look forward to seeing more of our students excel in the future," said a representative from Karunya University.
