NEW DELHI: In a major shift, Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has discontinued the PG architecture entrance examination for admission. Instead, candidates seeking admission to the MArch programme will be offered admissions based on the Postgraduate Entrance Test in Architecture (PGETA), a national-level exam held by the Council of Architecture (CoA).

“The #PGArchitecture exam will no longer be conducted for admission to #KEA . Instead, it has been decided to grant admission to the Master of Architecture degree based on the marks obtained in the national level #PGETA conducted by the Council of Architecture,” KEA posted on X.

The Council of Architecture (CoA) constituted by the ministry of education, Government of India, is responsible for conducting Postgraduate Entrance Test in Architecture 2024 (PGETA) for admission to over 400 institutions imparting architectural education. Now, the PGETA score will be used to offer admission to PG architecture programmes in Karnataka colleges.

PGETA 2025 entrance exam will be held as a computer-based test in exam centres across the country on Sundays. Students will get a maximum of two attempts to clear the exam. The CoA holds the exam in July and August, as per past trends. There will be 75 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for 100 marks. The best of two scores among the attempted by the candidate will be taken for admission.
