LSAC Global to offer over 50 scholarships for law aspirants appearing for LSAT India 2022

The toppers of LSAT India 2022 seeking admission in UG and PG law programmes will receive Rs 2 lakh scholarships, each.

NEW DELHI: LSAC Global, the Indian subsidiary of the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) has announced to offer 53 merit scholarships and 3 essay scholarships for students who appear for the LSAT India 2022 exam, which is scheduled to be held in January and May 2022.

LSAC Global will award the topper Scholarships to those students who achieve high scores in the LSAT India exam this year, for the fourth year in a row.

“In order to provide law aspirants an opportunity to fulfil their dream of a career in law, this year LSAC Global has increased the number of scholarships for the high scorers of LSAT-India 2022 exam, who seek admission into various law Programmes at an LSAC Law Alliance college,” said an official statement from LSAC Global.

The top 50 scorers in LSAT India who wish to seek admission in undergraduate programme at an LSAC Global Law Alliance college will be eligible to get 50 scholarships as follows:

  • Topper: Rs 2 Lakh only
  • Second highest scorer: Rs 1 Lakh only
  • Third highest scorer: Rs 1 Lakh only
  • Fourth and fifth highest scorer: Rs 50,000 each
  • Sixth – twenty fifth highest scorer: Rs 25,000 each
  • Twenty fifth - fiftieth highest scorer: Rs 15,000 each

Besides, the top 3 LSAT India scorers, who wish to get admission into the postgraduate programme will be eligible to receive three scholarships as follows:

  • Topper: Rs 2 Lakh only
  • Second highest scorer: Rs 1 Lakh only
  • Third highest scorer: Rs 1 Lakh only

LSAC Global scholarships for law students

The scholarship named Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Scholarship is based on an essay competition. This year’s topic for the competition is “The impact of Social Media - Is it promoting inclusivity or widening the gap?”. Students need to write an essay arguing for or against the topic and send in their entry by May 6, 2022 at the email ID - discoverlawscholarship@lsac.org.

Only LSAT India candidates applying to a full-time five year law programme at LSAC Global Law Alliance College, are eligible to apply.

The winners of the essay competition will receive three scholarships amounting to:

  • Winner: Rs 2 Lakh only
  • First runner up: Rs 1 Lakh only
  • Second runner up: Rs 1 Lakh only

The scholarships would cover the tuition and hostel fees for the first year of a five-year law programme at any LSAC Global Law Alliance college, the statement said.
