LSAC Global extends essay submission date for Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Essay Scholarship

LSAC has extended the essay submission date till June 10, 2022. The Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Essay Scholarship is offered to LSAT India candidates.
NEW DELHI : Law School Admission Council (LSAC) has extended the essay submission date for the “Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Essay Scholarship” from May 06 to June 10, 2022. The extension has been given to provide sufficient time to interested students to submit their essay in wake of postponement of Class 12 board exams.
The essay competition is applicable only for LSAT—India candidates applying to a full-time five-year law programme at a LSAC Global Law Alliance College.
LSAT May 2022 exam for admission to LSAC colleges will now take place from June 22. The last date to register for the LSAT India is June 8. LSAC is also ensuring that LSAT—India is not clashing with other national level law entrance tests like CLAT exams and AILET exam . LSAT India January 2022 exam was conducted on January 15, 2022 and the results were declared on February 9, 2022.
How to apply for the scholarship?
Candidates willing to participate in the essay competition need to write on the topic - ‘ The Impact of Social Media - Is it Promoting Inclusivity or widening the gap’. After completing the essay, candidates should mail it to discoverlawscholarship@lsac.org on or before June 10, 2022. The length of the essay should not be more than 1200 words.The essay will then be evaluated by a panel of legal professionals on the basis of clarity, quality and persuasiveness of the content.

The top 3 entries of the essay competition will receive scholarships amounting to maximum of specified amount:

The scholarship amounts will cover the tuition and boarding / hostel fees for the first year of a five-year law program at any LSAC Global Law Alliance college.
