Lucknow Basic Education Department has revised school timings to 10 am to 2 pm for Classes 1 to 8 in all schools in view of cold wave.

NEW DELHI: The Basic Education Department of Lucknow has revised school timings for students of Classes 1 to 8 in all schools from today. According to the revised timings, classes will begin from 10 am and end at 2 pm. The revised timings will remain in effect till January 10, 2023.
“After the approval of the District Magistrate, in view of the extreme cold wave, the timings of all the aided, recognized, schools of all the boards from class 1 to 8 in Lucknow district from January 2, 2023 to January 10, 2023 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm are being changed in the interest of the student,” read the official statement from the office of basic education.

“Please ensure strict compliance of the said order. The authenticity of this order can be checked by the school management, parents and students on the district's website. Winter vacations of council schools will remain the same,” it added.
Recently, the Uttar Pradesh government changed the school timings from 10 am to 3 pm. Authorities in Ghaziabad and Punjab also issued notices to change school timings due to low visibility in heavy fog.
Earlier in November 2022, Haryana government also changed timings for all schools starting from December 1. According to the revised timings, single shift schools will operate from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm whereas in double shift schools, first shift will run from 7:55 am to 12:30 pm and second shift from 12:40 pm to 5:15 pm.
