NEW DELHI: Question papers of Madhya Pradesh quarterly examinations for Classes 9 to 12 were allegedly leaked on social media. The Commissioner of the Directorate of Public Instruction has ordered an inquiry into the reported paper leak.

Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) considered cancelling the examination after question papers started circulating on social media. However, the exam for Classes 9 to 12 was conducted on Monday as per the schedule.

According to the Free Press Journal report the teachers who analysed the papers said that “the questions in the leaked papers were similar to some of the questions in the exam paper'”.

“Some questions were similar, but that is bound to happen, because these questions are generally asked in the examination,” the report quoted teacher Himanshi.

She added that even if the students had studied the questions mentioned in the leaked question paper, they would have had to study a major portion of the syllabus."

According to the report, the officials have said that an FIR will be lodged against the people involved in this alleged leak, and action will be taken against the guilty. The school education department is trying to trace the source of the leak.

“According to the information and posts, such question papers were first made viral on YouTube and, then, the links were posted on other social media portals,” the report added.

As per the report, a letter was issued from the headquarters to maintain the secrecy of this examination.

After the alleged leak, the students were screened rigorously before the commencement of the examination on Monday.

The examination registered attendance of about 95% of students in all classes. During the examination, Covid -19 guidelines were adhered to strictly. The question papers of Class 10 and 12 examination were designed as per the new pattern announced by MPBSE.
