Maharashtra Board Class 12 form submission deadline extended to October 20 amid flood situation

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that the deadline for filling Maharashtra board Class 12 exam forms 2025 has been extended till October 20, offering relief to students in flood-hit areas.

The original deadline to submit the Maharashtra board Class 12 exam forms 2025 was today, September 30. As per the ANI report, the decision comes after numerous students and parents highlighted their difficulties due to the severe flood situation.

Speaking to reporters, Shinde said, "I was getting calls from many students and farmer parents in the flood-affected areas. They were saying that due to the flood situation, it is not possible for the 12th standard students to fill out the exam form. Tomorrow is the last date to fill out the 12th standard exam form." He added that following discussions with Education Minister Dada Bhuse, the deadline was extended, providing relief to thousands of students, ANI reported.

Students can submit their Maharashtra Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exam form through the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) official website at mahahsscboard.in. Regular students can apply through their respective junior colleges or schools.

Education activities suspended amid heavy rainfall

Meanwhile, the state continues to deal with widespread damage caused by incessant rains. The ANI reported that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall. District authorities have also drawn up relocation plans for riverside villages vulnerable to flooding.

The Maharashtra government recently announced the closure of schools in several districts, including Palghar , Nanded , and Beed , following a red alert for heavy rainfall. A holiday was declared for Anganwadis, government and private primary and secondary schools, and Zilla Parishad institutions.

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) also postponed the Maharashtra Civil Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2025 to November 9, 2025, from the original date of September 28. The delay follows flood-like conditions and heavy rainfall warnings, which disrupted connectivity in several districts.
