Maharashtra scholarship exam for Classes 5 and 8 has been postponed to May 23 due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation.

NEW DELHI: The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) has postponed the scholarship exams for Classes 5 and 8 due to the increasing COVID-19 cases in the state. Earlier, MSCE scheduled the scholarship exams on April 25. However, Maharashtra scholarship exams will now be conducted on May 23, 2021.

Students must note that the Maharashtra scholarship exams for Class 5 and 8 will be held in offline mode as a centre-based test.
As per the NDTV report, the council said, “The pre-upper primary scholarship examination for Class 5th and Pre-Secondary Scholarship Examination for Class 8 will now be held on May 23, 2021, in all the districts of Maharashtra.”
The Times of India quotes Commissioner of the council Tukaram Supe as saying, “Commissioner of the council Tukaram Supe said, “Students have been engaged in online classes this year and the preparation for scholarship exams may have been disturbed. This extension of the exam date will give more time for students to prepare.”
The Maharashtra scholarship exam for Class 5 and 8 will include the topics such as General Knowledge, First and Third Languages, Mathematics. The exam duration will be 1 hour 30 minutes.
