Maharashtra scholarship test 2021 postponed for Class 5 and 8
The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) has postponed the Class 5 and 8 scholarship test in view of the rising case of Coronavirus in the state.

NEW DELHI: The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) has postponed the Maharashtra Scholarship Test 2021 for Classes 5 and 8 due to a surge in COVID-19 cases across the country. The Maharashtra scholarship exam 2021 was scheduled to be held on May 23, which is now postponed. The new exam date will be announced after considering the situation.
As per the official website of MSCE, “Scholarship Examination - 2021: In view of the increasing prevalence of Coronavirus, it is being postponed immediately by giving priority to the interest of students. The next date of the exam will be announced in due course.”
The School Education Minister, Varsha Gaikwad, said, “In view of the increasing prevalence of corona, the Pre-Higher Secondary Scholarship Examination (Class 5) and Pre-Secondary Scholarship Examination (Class 8) to be held on the same day in all the districts on 23rd May 2021 has been postponed immediately in view of the interest of the students.”

Around 47,662 schools of Maharashtra have registered for the scholarship examination 2021. A total of 6,32,478 students will appear in the examination out of which 3,88,335 students are from Class 5 and 2,44,143 students are from Class 8.
Earlier, the Maharashtra Scholarship exam 2021 was scheduled to be held on April 25 and was later rescheduled to May 23. This is the second time the examination is being postponed. Maharashtra Board has already postponed the C lass 12 board examination and has cancelled the Class 10 examination due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
