MCC withdraws 23 NEET PG seats from round 3 counselling; adds 12 to seat matrix

NEW DELHI: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has withdrawn 23 seats from the round 3 seat matrix of the National Eligibility Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling 2024. On the other hand, 12 new seats have been added to the NEET PG round 3 counselling which aspirants can check on the official website, mcc.nic.in.

The removed NEET PG seats include the two post-MBBS Diplomate of National Board (DNB) General Surgery vacancies in Kolkata’s Ruby General Hospital, as reported by Careers360. Two students who were allotted the seats, now withdrawn, are in a fix as they’ve been asked to appear for the ongoing third round of admissions.
As per the counselling authorities, five seats have been removed as they were ‘inadvertently’ filled in by the institute, and one is subjudice. For 11 seats, MCC received a communication from the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). For the rest, no reason has been given as to why the seats have been withdrawn.
