MDI Gurgaon opens admissions for PGDM Public Policy and Management programme; apply by July 31

NEW DELHI: The Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon has begun the application process for the Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Public Policy and Management (PGDM-PPM) programme. The registration process for the PGDM-PPM programme is underway and the last date to fill out the application form is July 31.

As per the official notice, the PGDM-PPM programme at MDI Gurgaon spans eighteen months, with fifteen months of coursework at MDI followed by a three-month policy paper completed at the participant's workplace. Candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 3,000 to register for the PGDM-PPM programme.

The programme curriculum covers public policy, governance, law, project management, public finance, infrastructure, sustainable development, economics, leadership, and human resource management. Participants will benefit from a multidisciplinary faculty, a state-of-the-art library, and a community of practice. A one-week village immersion is also part of the programme, the official press release read.

The programme is designed for middle and senior-level government officers sponsored by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and State Cadres. The programme is also open to other participants with a minimum of three years of experience in central and state government organisations and departments, consulting firms, multilateral agencies, NGOs, CSOs, and development professionals working in public policy and governance.

Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for the DoPT and self-sponsored applicants is given below.

For DoPT-sponsored applicants

  • Officers from All India Services, central services, faculty members of state administrative training institutes, and officers from the State Civil Services (SCS) and Non-State Civil Services (Non-SCS) are eligible if they meet the following conditions:

  • Length of Service: Officers must have completed 5 years of Group ‘A’ service by the start of the programme.

  • Age: Officers must have at least three years of service remaining after completing the programme.

  • Earlier Training: Officers should not have undergone a training program of 12 weeks or longer in India within 5 years prior to the commencement of this programme. Additionally, officers should not have participated in an international training program lasting more than 2 weeks within the preceding 2 years, more than one month within the preceding 3 years, or more than six months within the preceding 5 years.

For self-sponsored applicants

  • Must have 50% marks or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in both Class 10 and Class 12.

  • Must have a minimum 3-year bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from a university recognised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD), Government of India.

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification executive work experience as of April 30, 2024.

  • Applicants must have a valid score in one of the following All India Tests: Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), Common Admission Test (CAT), Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT), Management Aptitude Test (MAT), AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA), or Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), valid up to June 30, 2024, to be eligible for admission to the Post Graduate Diploma in Management - Public Policy and Management (PGDM-PPM) 2024.
