MGU Kottayam launches 5 master's programmes, calls for applications

Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam, Kerala starts new masters’ degree programmes. The last date to apply to various new courses is February 28, 2021.

NEW DELHI: Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Kottayam, Kerala, has come up with new masters’ degree programmes in its university, a statement from the university said on Friday.

The new masters’ degree programmes are being offered in statistics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, nanoscience and technology, nanoscience and technology in physics, chemistry and in energy by the respective schools.

The registration fee for the general category is Rs 1100 and candidates belonging to the reserved category have to pay a fee for Rs 550. For international candidates, the registration fee will be US $100. The fee details of the respective courses are available at cat.mgu.ac.in.

20 percent of the total seats of each programme are reserved for All India Quota (AIQ). These seats are reserved for applicants who are native of Union territories/states other than Kerala.

In addition, 20 percent of the seats or two seats, whichever is higher, are reserved for foreign students seeking admission in PG programmes in the teaching departments of the university.

Students joining the course will have a chance to conduct research in International Labs abroad as a result of the many MoU’s Mahatma Gandhi University have already signed across the globe.

The newly started school will offer MTech in energy science from March 2021. The programme will start with a limited number of seats which will be scaled up with time. The initial intake to the MTech programme will be limited to 10 students and two international students. Admissions for the courses will commence during the January – February 2021 cycle.

Eligibility criteria

The candidates must have done MSc in nanoscience and nanotechnology in Physics, Chemistry, Material science, Polymer science, electronics or communication, civil engineering or equivalent degrees with a minimum of 50% marks.

The last date to apply for the new masters’ programmes is February 28, 2021.
