MHT CET 2025: Engineering admissions close with 1,66,746 students; female participation rises to 37.3%

Check NowThe Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has issued MHT CET 2025 final data for BE, BTech admissions for the academic year 2025–26. The admission process recorded 2,02,883 MHT CET 2025 registrations, of which 1,66,746 students secured admission, reflecting an overall admission rate of 82.19%. This marks an increase of 11.8% compared with last year’s 1,49,078 admissions.

A total of four Centralised Admission Process (CAP) rounds are conducted, in which 1,30,835 students confirmed seats. Additionally, 23,046 students are admitted under the Against CAP (ACAP) quota and 12,865 through the management quota. The MHT CET 2025 CAP admission process closed on September 15.
Rising female participation in engineering admissions
Of the total admitted students, 1,04,550 are male and 62,195 are female. As per the official data, the female share of admissions has risen from 35.4% in the previous year to 37.3% in 2025–26, indicating a 1.9 percentage point increase.
The rise in female admissions is seen across major regions. Pune recorded the highest number of female students at 26,180, followed by Mumbai with 10,013 and Nashik with 8,922, contributing significantly to the overall rise in female representation.
In terms of overall regional distribution, Pune accounted for the highest number of admissions, with 70,251 students. This is followed by Mumbai with 31,930, Nashik with 23,122, Nagpur with 20,987, Aurangabad with 11,299 and Amravati with 9,157 students.
MHT CET 2025: Branch-wise admissions overview
Branch-wise data shows that Computer Engineering recorded the highest intake, with 27,995 admissions, followed by Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.
Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) also saw high enrolments. Over 85% seats were filled in Computer Engineering, IT, and AI-related programmes. The branch-wise admissions overview for the MHT CET 2025 is given in the table below.
