The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has warned engineering colleges against unauthorised and illegal fee collections after receiving several representations from students and parents. Maharashtra CET Cell has cautioned against admission cancellation and strict action against engineering colleges found charging fees under unapproved rules.

According to the Maharashtra Cell notice, the college fees are approved by the Fee Regulatory Authority (FRA) for the entire institution. It is ‘illegal and strictly prohibited’ to charge additional fees, fees demanded in cash, etc, in addition to the fees approved by the FRA.

It is mandatory for all colleges to charge only the exact fees approved by the tuition fee authority and to display the sanction orders on notice boards and their official websites.

The deadline will be considered final for all admissions, including the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) and the institutional-level rounds.
