NEW DELHI: Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) has launched a dual-degree engineering programme in collaboration with Deakin University, Australia. Students pursuing the dual degree will get to choose their major from two disciplines – mechanical engineering and mechatronics engineering.

The Australian university is also providing the Deakin International Merit Scholarship (South Asia) wherein eligible students will get a 20 per cent or 25% tuition fee waiver.

The dual degree offers an industry-relevant curriculum, hands-on learning opportunities, and will strengthen the student’s job prospects. It also offers credit transfer between both institutions and a full-time student experience in India and Australia. On completion of the programme, students will be awarded two degrees, BTech from MAHE Manipal and Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) from the Deakin University, Australia.

The dual-degree programme is designed to combine modern theory and standard industry skill set, as per the institute. With the help of a two-year BTech at MIT and the two-year Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) at Deakin University, students will be upskilled to create innovative solutions to real-world engineering problems, it said.
