MP Govt to pay engineering, medical college fees of Class 12 students scoring over 75%: Report

NEW DELHI: The Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that the state government will bear the fees of studying in medical and engineering colleges for students who score 75 percent and above in Class 12 board exams.

The chief minister on Sunday also announced scholarships for students who secure 70 percent and more in Class 10 and 12 exams. He further informed that the state government has decided to develop playgrounds in 110 villages, the ANI reported.

“I already give laptops to students who scored more than 75% in their 12th standard exams. Now, I will also bear the fees of medical college, engineering college, IIT and law college, the ANI quoted Shivraj Singh Chouhan as saying.

Moreover, the state government has launched 10 lakh new government jobs and the posts are being filled, it added. In August 2021, Madhya Pradesh became the second state after Karnataka to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

CM Chouhan launched the scheme to provide laptops for students who score 75% and above in Class 12 exams in 2018. The state government used to transfer Rs 25,000 to meritorious students to buy laptops.

The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) will be holding the MP Board practical exams from February 13 to March 25, 2023 while the theory exams will be conducted from February 15 to March 20, 2023. As per reports, MPBSE has decided not to conduct pre-board exams for both Class 10, 12.
