NEW DELHI - The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) exam which was scheduled to be held on October 11, 2020, has been postponed again. Maha CM U. Thackeray announced this in a press conference. The MPSC prelims exam has been postponed due to the Maharashtra Reservation agitation as well as the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. The new dates of MPSC prelims 2020 will be announced soon on the official website. The admit cards were released earlier. The decision to reschedule MPSC exam was taken after the second round of meeting conducted with various Maratha organisations. The meeting was attended by key leaders like Dy. CM. Ajit Pawar, Vinayak Mete and Suresh Patil of Maratha Arakshan Sanghrash Samiti.
Also, BJP MP Sambhaji Chhatrapati demanded that the exam would be attended by approximately 2-3 lakh candidates to fill in 200 vacancies. Hence considering the severity of the COVID-19 situation and also the reservation agitation, the exam must stand postponed. The BJP leader is a descendant of Maratha King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Recently, the Maharashtra Government gave nod to conduct all the pending examinations as well as final year exams of various universities in Maharashtra.
