The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has revised the minimum stipend amount paid to the trainees in medical institutions and accredited hospitals. The revised minimum stipend will be effective from June 1, 2025, the board informed.
As per NBEMS stipend guidelines, the private or state government hospitals and medical institutions as well as those affiliated to the railway, ESIC, central PSUs, central autonomous and central government will have to pay the trainees a basic stipend as prescribed. The stipend rate needs to be revised periodically to maintain the parity, according to the rules. NBEMS accredited hospitals are allowed to pay more than the prescribed monthly stipend.
“All other stipend guidelines / criteria will continue in accordance with the NBEMS stipend guidelines,” the medical board said in the latest notification.
