NEW DELHI, May 5: India’s biggest medical entrance exam, National Eligibility Entrance cum Test has concluded at 5:00 PM today. The examination had begun for at 2:00 PM which went for a duration of 3 hours. The exam was conducted in offline mode which included multiple choice questions from physics, chemistry and biology.The newly formed body, National Testing Agency (NTA) has conducted NEET for the first time. The authority managed to conduct the examination rather smoothly adhering to all the strict regulations. Candidates who had come wearing shoes were asked to remove it before entering the exam hall. However, at few exam centres, candidates were allowed to enter past 1:30 PM which was stated to be the last entry time. Police personnel were also present at the exam centre to disperse the crowd from the gate of examination centre.


Answer key for Test

Since NEET is a pen and paper based test, the authority will be releasing an official answer key displaying the correct answers for each question asked in the NEET examination. However, the prominent coaching centres will be releasing the unofficial answer keys soon after the conclusion of the exam.The question paper of NEET is set in various codes the answer key to each code is different. Candidates can judge their performance by tallying their responses with the answer key. The answer key is helpful in estimating score that a candidate might secure and their chances of qualifying exam. For the official answer key, which is expected to be released in the last week of May, the authority also has provided a provision to challenge it.


NEET 2019

The entrance examination was conducted for over 15 lakh registered candidates. The result for the exam will be released by June 5, 2019 in the form of merit list and cut off. NEET is a gateway for admission to around 66,771 MBBS and 27,148 BDS seats in medical and dental colleges of India. Admission to AYUSH courses has also been mandatorily brought under the ambit of NEET. Therefore in order to get admission in courses like Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy, candidates will need to qualify NEET 2019.
