NEW DELHI, May 30: National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the answer key for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on May 29, 2019, for all the paper codes. The candidates can check the answer key on the official website, ntaneet.nic.in through their respective login credentials. Each candidate will be able to access the answer key of the paper code that they were provided at the time of entrance examination only. Upholding accountability, NTA has also provided an option to challenge the answer key. Candidates can challenge the answer key by paying a sum of Rs 1000 per question. If the answer that has been challenged is found to be correct, the processing fee is refunded.

The answer key released by NTA is the most credible source through which a candidate can ascertain the scores they might have secured in the entrance exam. NTA through an official notice has revealed that 15,19,375 candidates had registered this year.

Know the expected score

Along with the answer key, the authority also releases a scanned copy of the OMR sheet which is yet to be released. The OMR response sheet can be cross-checked through the answer key released by NTA to determine the number of correct and incorrect responses that a candidate must have marked at the time of examination. Prominent coaching centres have already released the unofficial answer key right after the conclusion of the exam. However, the official answer key released by NTA has the final authority of correctness. Candidates can calculate their marks through a simple formula which can be checked below.

NEET scores = (Number of correct answers X 4) - (Number of incorrect responses X 1)

Candidates await NEET results

The exam conducting authority will release the NEET result 2019 by June 5 in the form of scorecards. It will mention details like candidate's name and roll number, subject-wise and total marks, percentile score, All India Rank, category rank, and also category-wise qualifying cutoff. The result will be released in online mode for all the candidates who appeared for the examination. The scores corresponding to the qualifying percentile and a merit list will also be released along with the result. NTA presents the scorecard for only 60 days after the declaration of result, therefore is advisable that the scorecard is downloaded as and when the results are announced. On the basis of NEET result, the counselling for MBBS and BDS seats will begin the second week of June.

NEET score is one of the crucial criteria that is considered for admission to 66,771 MBBS and 27,148 BDS seats offered in various medical and dental colleges of the country. From 2018, Admission to AYUSH courses has also been brought under the ambit of NEET.
