NEW DELHI, May 2: Just a few days ahead of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Exam (NEET), National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a notification announcing the change and address correction of several exam centres. As many as 86 exam centres have been included in the list of exam centres affected by the decision. As per the official notification, the step has been taken in consideration of the ongoing general elections and other unavoidable circumstances. Affected candidates have been directed by the authority to re-download admit cards to know the changes in their respective exam centres. The list issued by the authority mentions the name of the City/State, the centre number, candidates’ roll number, exam centre and the change or correct address of exam centre.

Spreading the news

The change in exam centres has also been informed through the local newspaper of respective states. The city coordinators of the examination have also been asked to inform the concerned candidates with the help of local newspapers and Radio. “Through SMS, Email and Voice Message, the concerned candidates have already been advised to download their fresh e-Admit Card available on NTA website (www.ntaneet.nic.in) and report in time at the new Examination Centre for NEET (UG) – 2019 Examination on 05 May 2019” the official notification stated. Since only three days are left for the examination, candidates are advised to familiarise themselves with the location of freshly allotted exam centre by visiting it once before the date of examination.


NEET 2019

NEET is scheduled to be conducted on May 5, 2019. At the moment, the country is undergoing the general elections which may affect the operation on the day of examination. Instances of NEET exam centre change have already surfaced in Delhi and Maharashtra. Reportedly, several candidates have received an SMS from NTA asking them to download fresh admit card. The entrance examination will be conducted in pen and paper-based mode for over 15 lakh registered candidates. NEET is the gateway for admission to around 66,771 MBBS and 27,148 BDS seats offered by the government, private, deemed and central universities of India.
