NEW DELHI, May 15: National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release the official answer key of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for every question paper code. The answer key is most likely to be published on the official website of NEET in the last week of May. The entrance test was conducted on May 5, 2019, in pen and paper-based mode. Prominent coaching institutes have already released the unofficial answer key of different paper codes right after the conclusion of examination. However, the aspirants eagerly await the release of official NEET answer key. The official answer key is the most credible source through which a candidate can ascertain their approximate score.

Along with the official answer key, OMR response sheet of each candidate will also be released. It will reflect the answers, a candidate has marked on the OMR sheet at the time of examination. For greater accountability, the authority has also provided a provision to challenge the official answer key. Calculate your marks

With the help of NEET official answer key, candidates can tally their responses given at the time of examination. As per the marking scheme, every correct answer fetches 4 marks and 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. There 180 multiple choice questions with a total of 720 maximum marks. If a candidate leaves a question unmarked, zero marks are awarded for the same. Candidates can apply a simple formula of:

Challenge official answer key

In case a candidate feels that a particular answer in the official answer key is incorrect, he/she can challenge the particular answer within a stipulated time period as declared by the authority. An amount of Rs 1000/- per question has to be paid in order to challenge it. Check the steps below.

  1. Log in to the official website of NEET - ntaneet.nic.in

  2. On the home page, enter the login credentials

  3. Click on ‘apply for key challenge’

  4. Select the question you wish to challenge given in the first column

  5. Select the responses provided by NTA in the second column

  6. Select a response in the ‘suggested answer by candidate’

  7. Provide a remark justifying your response

  8. Before final submission, all questions challenged will appear on the screen

  9. Check the questions and click on ‘submit’

  10. A page for payment will appear on the page’

  11. After the successful payment, a confirmation page will be displayed

  12. Take a print out of the page for future reference

NEET Result

NTA will be releasing the result by June 5 in online mode. The result will be released in the form of a scorecard. It will mention the name of candidates, date of birth, subject-wise marks, total percentile scores, NEET All India Rank (AIR), All India Quota Rank, category rank among others. The marks equivalent to cut off percentile will also be declared with the result.
