NEET 2021 exam may be postponed to September, say reports

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is mulling over conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in September, as per PTI report. However, the final decision is yet to be taken and the ministry is in the process of reviewing the COVID-19 situation in the country.
"The situation is being reviewed to decide on the schedule of the pending editions of JEE-Mains and whether NEET-UG can be conducted on August 1," PTI quoted a senior official.
NEET 2021 is likely to be held in September
The ministry of education is contemplating shifting the medical entrance exam NEET 2021 to September, a PTI report said. According to the last notification released, the NTA is scheduled to conduct the NEET 2021 exam on August 1 in pen and paper-based format. However, there is no confirmation on the registration date of NEET UG 2021, although the application process was supposed to commence from May 1.
Along with the declaration of the NEET exam date, the authorities are expected to announce NEET application form release date. The application form and NEET exam latest updates will be available on the new official website - neet.nta.nic.in. The newly launched website mentions, ‘Online application form will available soon’. However, as the exam date approaches, students demand clarity on the NEET application date at the earliest on various social media platforms.
Steps to fill NEET application form
Here are the steps to register for the medical entrance exam:
NEET registration 2021 - Name of the candidate, parent’s name, date of birth, category, mobile number, email address, ID type and number
Filling in the personal, contact, Class 10, 11 and 12 details, exam centre selection and others
Uploading of scanned images and documents
Online payment of application fee
Printout of the confirmation page.
NEET exam 2021
NEET is the national level entrance exam for admission to 83,075 MBBS, 26,949 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, 603 BVSc and AH seats across India. From last year, the admission to 1,899 AIIMS and 249 JIPMER medical seats is also done through NEET entrance exam. Through NTA notice released on March 12, 2021, NEET UG scores may be used for BSc Nursing and BSc Life Sciences admissions.
