NEET PG 2019: NBE to reconduct PG exam for J&K candidates who missed it due to inclement weather

NEW DELHI, JANUARY 7: National Board of Examination (NBE), released a notice on January 6, stating that NEET PG will be reconducted for the Jammu and Kashmir candidates who had to appear for the exam. The regulatory body conducted National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate - NEET PG on January 6, 2019, in computer based mode across 148 exam cities in India.
In the notice, NBE stated that, due to extreme weather conditions in Srinagar valley, many candidates experienced difficulty in transporting from Srinagar to their designated exam centres in Jammu and other cities due to complete blockage of road and air transportation services. Taking responsibility of the affected candidates in a ‘force majeure’ situation, NBE will be providing an opportunity by scheduling a separate exam. The date, time and venue for NEET PG exam will be notified in due course.
As per the reports, January 5 was recorded as one of the heaviest snowfalls in the recent years in Srinagar Valley, which led to suspension of road as well as air transport.
NEET PG was held on Sunday, January 6, for medical graduates looking for admission to Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD) and PG diploma courses in the medical colleges of the country. As per new reports, NEET-PG 2019 was held for over 1,48,000 candidates in 165 cities.
Candidates qualifying in the exam of NEET PG 2019 by securing the required cutoff percentile will be considered eligible for further counselling processes.The exam was comprised of 300 objective type questions for which the candidates were allotted only three hours thirty minutes to complete the exam.

The authorities will be declaring the result of NEET PG 2019 by January 31, which will be released in online mode. Along with the result, the regulatory body will also be releasing the cutoff. NEET PG 2019 result will be issued in the form of the scorecard and the merit list will be made available almost two weeks after the declaration of the scorecard. The scorecard will obtain information candidate’s All India Rank, score, percentile score and other details. The marks equivalent to the cut off percentile will be disclosed in the result of NEET PG 2019. Such candidates who have qualified the exam will become eligible for the counselling process.
