NEW DELHI: The National Board of Examinations (NBE) will be conducting the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG 2023) exam on March 5. Despite several requests to postpone NEET PG 2023 and petition before the Supreme Court, the medical entrance exam will now be held on the scheduled date. With just two days left for the exam, students can check the important subject topics asked in the last year NEET PG question paper.

NEET PG syllabus 2023 will comprise subject knowledge area as per Graduate Medical Education Regulations issued by the Medical Council of India with prior approval of the Government of India, the NBE informed.

The NBE will be conducting the exam for a duration of 3 hour and 30 minutes and the question paper will have 200 multiple-choice questions with each question having 4 response options. Based on the NEET PG exam analysis by experts, the question paper was moderate in difficulty level and mostly had direct questions.

  • Around 95% clinical scenario questions were asked, even for pre and paraclinical subjects.
  • Contraception, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OBS GYNE), and mycology subjects also had more weightage.
  • Straight questions from molecular biology and biochemistry
  • Surgery - Exploratory laparotomy for perforation-peritonitis and stab wound; intussusception.
  • Scleromalacia perforans, HLA-DQ2 seen in celiac disease were other topics.
  • 30 to 40 questions were event-based and there were 75 image-based questions.
  • A fewer number of questions were asked from surgery, medicine, peds, ectopic pregnancy.
