NEW DELHI: The Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) claimed that the NEET PG 2023 internship cut-off date has been extended and said that the National Board of Examinations (NBE) is expected to issue the official notice soon at nbe.edu.in.

“Breaking news for all #NEETPG2023 aspirants! According to our sources, the eligibility date has been extended. Keep an eye out for official notice-expected very soon,” the doctors’ association said. However, there is no official notification yet on the extension of the internship deadline.

Along with the NEET PG 2023 exam date announcement, the NBE informed that the last date for completion of MBBS internship is March 31, 2023. Requesting the health ministry to extend the NEET PG 2023 eligibility date to June 30, 2023, the Indian Medical Association-Junior Doctors Network wrote a letter claiming approximately 75% interns in Maharashtra and from across the country will be ineligible if the internship deadline is March 31.

Several students have taken to Twitter to request the NBE to postpone the NEET PG 2023 internship completion date. The last date of completion of MBBS internship in many states ranges from April 2023 to August 2023, according to data collated by the doctors’ group.

Requesting aspirants to review the data and suggest corrections if any, the FORDA said, “ Our goal is to ensure maximum student eligibility for the upcoming exam. These corrections will be conveyed to the concerned authorities.”

“Every year interns and other students are facing similar issues with the eligibility criteria, delayed counselling and decisions that are never in sync with keeping students in priority, which is affecting the mental health and work productivity,” the IMA-JDN said.
