NEW DELHI: The National Eligibility Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024 candidates are fretting over the slow website of NBEMS and login issues while selecting the exam city. The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) was supposed to commence the NEET PG 2024 test city selection from today, July 19. However, the facility has not started yet due to Microsoft outage and the login page is not working, students complained.

Several NEET PG aspirants shared screenshots of NBEMS website and login page and seemed to be irked for not being able to login and select exam centres. The website read, “Due to ongoing Microsoft outage globally, the application of TCS for NEET PG 2024 test city selection is also facing issues. The application will go live as and when the issues are resolved by the end of day.”

Background wave

Some also questioned the list of NEET PG 2024 cities as well as the lack of clarity in the test city allocation scheme. The medical board asked candidates to select four exam cities wherein they wish to appear for the exam. The window for choosing the preferred test cities will be available till July 21.

Students have started taking out their agitation over the issue on social media. An X user said in a post, “One simple login and choice of test City is not possible with this NBE-TCS and they plan on conducting 2 shift exam on d same day with normalisation of scores. Truly the joke of the year!!”

New centres, random allotment

An aspirant asked, “What exactly was the need to select new centers ? On top of 2 shifts ? Just another day wasted refreshing the page.”

Reacting to the random allotment of cities from the preferred choices by NBEMS, a doctor wrote on X, “This is a serious issue. They are saying to put 4 choices for exam centres. And student will get alloted to random from 4 centres. How can a student travel too far for a centre , if he is having another centre nearby to his house? Pathetic.”

“If they don't even guarantee of getting a exam center of the four options we have given then why did they give us the option of giving options. Being a medical student/doctor is the biggest curse in our country,” said another X user.

“If we are unable to open the website how are we supposed to fill the choices? The website is not working and even if it does, not being able to login. If we are unable to fill choices, they will send you anywhere in the country,” another aspirant feared.

“Portal seems to be hopeless. Not loading. If it loads, doesn't allow login. What's wrong with you guys? If you aren't prepared why do you stress out the candidates..,” asked another candidate.

NEET PG exam 2024 is scheduled for August 11 for admission to postgraduate medical programmes. The exam will be conducted in two shifts for the first time. NBEMS announced that the test will be held in 185 cities.
