NEW DELHI: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has paused the process of choice filling for NEET-Super Speciality counselling as a few super speciality seats of colleges are being added to the seat matrix now. As soon as the addition of the fresh seats by the institutes is complete, the MCC will notify the resumption of the NEET SS 2021 counselling process on the official website mcc.nic.in.

The MCC notified the addition of NEET SS seats a day after the Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) wrote to the Director General of Health Services regarding the incomplete seat matrix published for NEET SS Counselling 2021.

“Around 250 seats in prestigious institutes such as Army Research and Referral hospital, Jaslok Super-specialty hospital, Mumbai and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital have not been included currently,” the resident doctors association said in a letter addressed to DGHS.

“Seats from these institutions are included in the round 1 counselling process every year and are always opted for by the top-rankers in various specialities. For the current year, the addition of these seats in Round 2 will essentially turn the Round 1 into a ‘mock round’ as the top-rankers will apply for upgrade in the Round 2,” it said.

The FORDA further said that the details of the fee structure, stipend, and bond for each healthcare institute were yet to be published, making it difficult for candidates to choose.
